Uffington C of E Primary School Partnership

Students from Abingdon & Witney college have been working with Uffington C of E Primary School in Abingdon with various sporting activities. After attending the schools sports day recently this year, we have received fantastic feedback that will drive us to continue this kind of work in the future.

"The partnership between Uffington C of E Primary School and Abingdon and Witney College has been a real success. All of our children from 4 – 11 years have benefited from working alongside the college staff and students and this regular contact has had a huge impact on the children’s skills development. The ratio between student and pupils has been very low and this has enabled the students to develop the children’s sports skills at a much quicker rate.  The sports covered include tag rugby, football, outdoor adventurous activities and games.  It has also enabled us to have the confidence to take part in a wide range of sports competitions for the first time.

It is not only the children that have benefited from this partnership. It has proven to be a real inspiration for our staff and has played a significant role in developing their skills to teach a wide range of sports and sports skills.

The staff and students have developed excellent relationships with our children and the students have proven to be very good role models.

This is proving to be a really beneficial partnership which is developing the skills of both staff and pupils which we would hope to continue next year."
