College students driving up awareness for charity

Teaming up with the Lymphoma Association, Level 3 Business Management & Communications students from Abingdon & Witney College are running a special event to raise awareness and money for the charity.

Lymphoma is the fifth most common type of cancer in the UK, occurring at any age, and affecting over 12,000 people a year.

On November 30th, from 11am-3pm, three supercars will be pulling into the college campus in Abingdon – an Audi R8, Rolls-Royce Phantom, and the hybrid BMW I8. For a small donation, visitors will have the unique opportunity to take photos, sit behind the wheel and experience automotive luxury, all for a fantastic cause.

There’ll also be a bake sale running at the college to help raise even more funds for the Lymphoma Association.

The students involved have organised the event themselves as part of the College’s innovative Futures programme. This ensures that not only do they get a qualification whilst they are with us, but that they also learn crucial employability skills, such as organising events and working in teams, helping them to secure dream jobs when they leave us.

You can find more information on the event and donate online at supercarsawc.weebly.com, or follow updates on Twitter and Facebook.
