Jonny Austin Ambition to Become Football Coach!

Past student Jonny Austin has always had the ambition to coach football as a career. During his college course he managed to secure a work experience placement with Swindon Town youth academy which would prove to be hugely beneficial. Once he had successfully completed his BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport at Abingdon & Witney College, he then applied to coach football over the summer in California, Arizona and Nevada. Jonny said his time in college and the work he did in schools whilst at college was a huge help. Once Jonny had applied he was then shortlisted and was invited to attend a coaching selection day where he was put through his paces, Jonny impressed the head coach and was selected from the group of other applicants.

Jonny is now back from America, and from this experience has had an offer from Oxford Brookes University to complete a degree in Physical Education and Sports Coaching with Business Management which he is due to start in September.
