Travel & Tourism Charity Event!

A unit that our travel & tourism student had to complete in order to achieve their course is Unit 13 Events. This means they had to plan, prepare and deliver a successful event, and they decided to hold a charity event to raise money for the Kingfisher School in Abingdon. So with great preparation the event was held on Monday 25th January 2016 at Abingdon Campus.

The event consisted of bikes and rowing machines and it was a challenge to see which groups could cycle and row the distance from London to Paris in the quickest time: the groups were Travel & Business VS Sport & Public Services! Our TOBES student were excellent as they all took part, even the staff did to. All together they rowed and cycled for 5 hours straight! They also held a raffle and cake sale.
The students also invited the Oxford Mail in for a quick story for the papers.

It was safe to say that the event was a HUGE success and the Travel student even made in it in Abingdon Herald!
